Italian Tofurky Garden Pagodas
/I like to experiment and today, for lunch, I created Italian Tofurky Garden Pagodas.
I started by pouring two cups of water in a casserole dish and adding a lot of fresh broccoli and cauliflower.
Then I added Quinoa Garden Pagodas (uncooked), two Tofurky Italian Sausages in chunks, and Newman's Own Garden Peppers Pasta Sauce.
I covered and baked at 375 degrees, stirred after 30 minutes, and then baked another 30 minutes.
Outcome
It was delicious, but here are my recommendations. The Tofurky Italian Sausages are very spicy. If you don't like real spicy, cut the Tofurky Sausages into smaller chunks, and maybe use one instead of two. I added the broccoli and cauliflower raw, which made them very crunchy, which I like, but you might either steam first or cut into smaller pieces. I think next time, I will add cut-up carrots to add color and a little sweetness. I used the whole jar of sauce, you could add half and a cup of water if you like a less tomatoey taste. Newman's Garden Peppers Pasta Sauce is very rich and flavorful. I topped with Red Star Yeast Flakes, because I like the taste of nutritional yeast and it is a good source for B vitamins. I was able to purchase the Red Star Yeast Flakes at my local Giant Food Store.
